Why Choose the Arc'teryx Macai Pant?
I purchased the
Arc'teryx Macai Pant to snowboard in when the temperature is bone-chilling cold. The 3L GORE-TEX fabric locks out water, providing breathable protection, while the Coreloft Compact 80 insulation offers a substantial amount of warmth. It comes in a trim fit, but it does not negatively impact my movement. I sized up from an M to an L only because I like my snowboard pants to be a little baggy. It features mesh PowderGuard vents and an adjustable waist, making it perfect for taking on a cold mountain.

How I Use the Arc'teryx Macai Pant
Snowboarding: I wear these
Arc'teryx pants when the temperature is 20 degrees or below; They are an absolute furnace, and I typically run cold.
I like that the cuffs can fit over my snowboard boots and have reinforced instep patches to protect against cuts. Many cuffs have been shredded snowboarding, including this pair, but they are not in the reinforced area. The pants have an integrated nylon belt on the front with a plastic buckle, but I sized up, so I also use the conveyor belt to keep the pants on my waist. Unfortunately, these pants are not suitable for hiking or snowmobiling. I use the Rush Pant for most of my snowboarding needs and only feel the need to pack these pants when I am headed to Northern Michigan in the middle of winter. Check out the
