Arc’teryx Strato Jacket
The Arc’teryx Strato Jacket is a fleece mid-layer for skiing, hiking, and climbing, but I use it as a mid-layer when snowboarding. However, it must be very cold because it is a thick fleece. This is easily the thickest and warmest mid-layer I own—the polyester princess. I typically use it only in Northern Michigan.
Thermal Pro Fleece
This very warm fleece has a textured face for added durability and a soft interior for comfort.
Moisture-Wicking
The fabric on the Strato pulls sweat away from the skin.
Full Front Zip
Helps with quick temperature regulation.
Fit
This runs large for me and provides enough room for layering underneath.
Pockets
The Arc’teryx Strato jacket has two hand pockets.
Design
The jacket has the signature Arc’teryx design with articulated elbows and gusseted underarms for mobility.
Durable
The outer face resists pilling to some extent, but it is not easy to layer under a shell if you are accustomed to a normal-sized mid-layer. This is a hoss!
How I Use for Snowboarding
Layering for Warmth
I wear the Arc’teryx Strato Jacket as a mid-layer beneath a shell like the Rush or Sphene. Its thick fleece insulation traps heat, keeping you warm when needed. This beast handles low teens with a Rho HW below and a shell on top.
Everyday Resort Use
This thick fleece can easily double as an outer layer on mild days.
