Arc’teryx Gamma SL Hoody
Details
The Arc’teryx Gamma SL Hoody is made from lightweight, durable softshell fabric with a DWR finish for light weather protection. It’s fully adjustable, the Hood easily fits over my snowboarding helmet without obscuring my peripheral vision. The jacket has a bit of stretch, articulated patterning, and gusseted underarms for mobility.
Two mesh-lined zippered hand pockets are positioned for easy access when wearing a pack. The inside of this jacket has two large mesh drop pockets, usually filled with various accessories. The hem has an adjustable drawcord, and the cuffs are elasticized. At just 300g, the Gamma SL Hoody is lightweight and packable.
How I use
Hiking
The Arc’teryx Gamma SL Hoody is an excellent choice for hiking and running in mild to mixed conditions. The tough fabric on this jacket easily handles the rubbing from backpacks or encounters with rocks and trees. I did not size up for this piece, but it’s my biggest medium shell, so I use it when I need something to fit over my thicker fleece mid-layers like the Caliber.
