Arc’teryx Aptin Zip Hoody
Features
The Aptin Zip Hoody is a technical mid-layer made from lightweight, durable fabric treated with a DWR coating. It has stretch panels under the arms and sides, pre-shaped elbows, and gusseted underarms for mobility and comfort. The hoody also has elasticized cuffs and thumb holes. The hood is not adjustable but has a strip of fleece running down the center of the hood for warmth.
The hoody weighs only 270 grams, so it is ultra-light and easy to pack. It has a trim, minimalist hood designed for extra coverage without obstructing your view or bouncing around. Combining breathable fabrics and panels allows heat and moisture to escape this hoody efficiently.
This piece does not have pockets. It’s slim, athletic cut minimizes excess fabric for a clean fit that won’t flap around. The slightly extended hem in the back adds extra coverage. The only reflective accent is the logo on the front, so it does not enhance visibility during low-light runs. The half-zip design vents or seals heat accordingly. The interior of this hoody is fleece-lined, so it keeps me very warm.
How I use
Running
The Arc’teryx Aptin Zip Hoody is very comfortable, and I only use it to run when I need to take the edge off a cold day. The lightweight, breathable fabric is almost see-through and provides a temperature-regulating fit.
