Arc’teryx Rho AR Zip Neck
Material
The Arc’teryx Rho AR Zip Neck is made with Polartec Power Stretch, which provides the right amount of warmth and stretch. It is a very thick baselayer that could easily be used as a mid-layer.
Quick-Drying
The Rho AR fabric pulls moisture away from your skin and dries it quickly.
Comfort
The Rho AR’s interior is brushed, giving it a soft, cozy feel against the skin. I can comfortably wear this baselayer for hours.
Fit
The Rho AR hugs your body for thermal efficiency, and the fabric is thick, so you might run into layering issues if your usual mid-layer fits over a thinner poly or wool base.
Temperature Regulation
The zip neck lets you quickly dump heat.
Seams
This baselayer’s flatlock seams minimize bulk and eliminate irritating seam lines.
Pockets
This piece has a small, laminated pocket on the chest that I rarely use.
Durable
Rho AR is highly resistant to wear and tear and can handle the rigors of frequent use without losing its performance or fit.
Lightweight and Packable
Despite its warmth, the Rho AR zip neck is lightweight and packable.
My Uses
Snowboarding
It is a perfect base for snowboarding in the cold north. I usually wear the Rho LT Bottom.
Hiking
This midweight layer is excellent for cold-weather hikes when the pace is slow or when a lot of standing around is expected.
