Arc’teryx Granville 16
Design
The Arc’teryx Granville 16 is a minimalist pack with a 16L capacity. It is my primary option for short hikes and traveling.
Material
The Granville 16 has a highly water-resistant finish, and its zippers and seams protect its contents from splashes, rain, and snow.
Durable
Despite its rugged, abrasion-resistant construction, the Granville 16 weighs just 760 grams. It’s tough enough for outdoor adventures but light enough for traveling.
Organization
The main compartment has an internal laptop sleeve that accommodates my 13-inch MacBook and a top pocket for quick access to smaller items. The laptop sleeve is padded and floats, so there is no need to worry about the impact if the bag falls. There is another sleeve behind the laptop sleeve that fits an iPad perfectly. The main zipper goes a long way down each side of the bag, allowing me to open it fully to pack or unpack. The Granville 16 has no external water bottle sleeve, and the inside pocket has a keychain clip to secure your keys.
Comfort
The shoulder straps are sturdy and padded for comfort, and although the back panel does not have the technology to help with airflow, my back rarely sweats while wearing it.
My Uses
Hiking
The Arc’teryx Granville 16 is designed for outdoor use and is my go-to for short hikes. It’s easily the most durable Arcteryx backpack I own; I don’t see anything taking it down. It does not get dirty quickly; It has a ton of interior space and can easily hold water, jackets, microspikes, and everything else needed on a short hike. Although it lacks water bottle pockets, the quick-access zip on the side is convenient for grabbing water without opening the main compartment.
Travel
Lightweight and rugged, the Arc’teryx Granville 16 is my go-to for travel as my 2nd carry-on, with my Micon 32 being the first.
