Arc’teryx Micon 32
Details
The Arc’teryx Micon 32 is an absolute beast with 32 liters of storage space. This bag is large enough for gear-heavy activities like backcountry tours, which makes it more than enough for my snowboarding needs. The Micon 32 is designed to handle crazy alpine environments and is made with durable weatherproof materials that keep my things dry. The bag has external attachment straps for carrying skis or a snowboard. These rock-solid straps keep gear secure when hiking up to a line, leaving your hands free for balance, but I never use them.
This pack has an internal sleeve for a hydration bladder and a hose port for easy access. It is designed for all-day comfort and has a padded hip belt and adjustable shoulder straps. However, I had to remove the hip belt because it was not removable. The Arcteryx Micon 32’s main compartment is a top-loader (roll top), making it easy to access gear. Getting in from the top is not the only option; the bag has additional zippered panels that allow me to grab items without unpacking everything.
This bag has compression straps to help cinch the load and prevent gear from shifting. These straps are handy when I need to keep the dimensions of my carry-on luggage within the allowed specifications.
My Uses
Snowboarding
If I need to pack a lot of gear for long days on the slope, I usually use the Arc’teryx Micon 32, but I will often take the Micon 16.
Travel
The Micon 32 is a great travel backpack. Its compact size makes it small enough to qualify as a carry-on for most airlines. I typically travel with this and the Granville 16 if I am not snowboarding.
